Nur joined Cary Sister Cities in 2019 to help establish the partnership with her hometown of Bandırma, Türkiye, which officially became a Sister City in 2022. Born in Bandırma and raised in both Italy and Türkiye, she moved to Cary in 1990 and has been active in civic life ever since. An adjunct professor at NC State and Campbell University, Nur has also held leadership roles with ATA-NC, Women Business Owners, and the Cary Chamber of Commerce. In 2016, she was honored as one of the Women of Western Wake Honorees for her contributions to education and entrepreneurship. Today, she continues to dedicate her energy to strengthening cultural exchange and community connections through Cary Sister Cities.
